About the Saffron Directory
Saffron Directory is both on-line and in print (annually), and has been in existence since approximately 1993-4.
Saffron Walden is a thriving and historic market town in North West Essex famous for the diversity of its independent shops, number of its clubs and societies as well as its sporting and community activities. This medieval market town withits beautiful church and wide tree lined high street, boasts several excellent schools and many facilities for young families, a hospital, leisure centre, golf course and even an NHS dentist.
The Saffron Directory (also known as the Saffron Walden Directory) is all about the town of Saffron Walden, Essex and all the opportunities and services it has to offer. As a user of the Saffron Directory you will find contact details for some 1200 organisations from shops in the High Street to self employed plumbers, graphic designers or therapists. It is easy to find what you are looking for by category, or by simply using a keyword search such as “lace” to find the local lace making club.
Tradesmen, emergency services, schools, shops, clubs and societies are all included free of charge giving an overall picture of a thriving market town. There are galleries, museums, gardens open to the public, and venues for hire.
Most of the listed organizations are actually working from premises within the CB10 and CB11 post code areas, which includes many of the villages surrounding the town.
The printed version of the Saffron Directory with “where can I find in Saffron Walden” section is published once a year and includes those businesses/organizations who have asked to be included in the Saffron Directory.
The Saffron Directory is the complete on-line and published guide to all that Saffron Walden has to offer and is growing daily as the Town expands, and more people into it and find out about it.
The Directory is soley owned and run by self employed semi retired Harriet Christodoulides who works from home. It is not sponsored in any way by local authorities or businesses.
